MapBiomas is constantly evolving and growing. To date, it has the following initiatives:

MapBiomas Brazil present data on land use and land cover in the brazilian territory, covering the period from 1985 to 2023 with 29 mapped classes.

MapBiomas Indonesia is the first initiative outside of South America to be part of the MapBiomas network. Its second collection mapped 11 classes of land cover and land use from 2000 to 2022.

MapBiomas Peru present data on land use and land cover in the peruvian territory, covering the period from 1985 to 2023 with 19 mapped classes.

MapBiomas Bolivia present data on land use and land cover in the bolivian territory, covering the period from 1985 to 2023 with 19 mapped classes.

MapBiomas Colombia present data on land use and land cover in the colombian territory, covering the period from 1985 to 2022 with 21 mapped classes.

MapBiomas Venezuela present data on land use and land cover in the venezuelan territory, covering the period from 1985 to 2023 with 23 mapped classes.

With 7 different classes mapped, the first MapBiomas collection of land use and cover in Uruguay presents data for the period 1985-2021.

The MapBiomas Southern South American Pampa is an initiative to generate a historical series of annual maps of land cover and land use in the South American Pampas.

MapBiomas Alert is a system of validation and refinement of alerts of deforestation, degradation, and regeneration of native vegetation with high resolution images.

The MapBiomas Fire is presents fire scars maps in Brazil based on Landsat satellite mosaic images with a spatial resolution of 30 meters, covering the period from 1985 to 2022.

The initiative presents data on the water surface dynamic in Brazil and Amazon Watershed, covering the period from 1985 to 2022, based on Landsat imagery with 30 meters resolutin and cloud cover less than 70%.

MapBiomas Soil presents data on organic carbon stock for the top 30 cm of soil in Brazil, covering the period from 1985 to 2022.

The degradation module presents data on the degradation vectors of native vegetation in Brazil. Vectors include: edge area, patch size, isolation, fire frequency, time since last fire, and age of secondary vegetation
